First Data International and POLCARD press conference

The conference gathered journalists of financial, economic and business titles. The press releases after the conference included among others:

"In November POLCARD will change its name to First Data Polska. (…) The company intends to offer services for banks as First Data, card payments in shops and service outlets shall be, however, still accounted by POLCARD. (…)" [Rzeczpospolita, pc, 28.09.07]

"(…) First Data, the company that this spring bought POLCARD (a company specialising in card payment transactions) for 325 million dollars, announced yesterday its plans to create a new ATM network in Poland. – We intend to become an important independent operator. We are planning to start with 200-500 machines – Janusz Diemko, POLCARD President announced on the conference.

(...) First Data does not intend to save on investments in Poland. – We invest over 100 million Euro every year in Europe – informed David Yates, the head of First Data. About one tenth of this amount may be invested in Poland. (…)” [Dziennik Polska Europa Świat, Halina Kochalska, 28.09.07]
